Cookie policy of Faro Innovación y Estrategia SAS (FaroNova). This document describes the cookies and tracking technologies used in FaroNova's services.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on the User's device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when visiting a website. Cookies allow the website to recognize the User's device and store information about their preferences or previous actions.
FaroNova uses cookies and similar technologies in its services to ensure the technical functioning of the platform, improve the User experience, and collect anonymized usage statistics.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
2.1. Essential Cookies
Strictly necessary for the functioning of the Services. Without these cookies, basic functionalities such as authentication and secure navigation would not be possible. They do not require User consent.
2.2. Analytics Cookies
Allow the collection of aggregated and anonymized statistics on Service usage, for the sole purpose of improving FaroNova's products. These cookies do not individually identify the User or access the content of their queries or files.
2.3. Performance Cookies
Allow monitoring the technical performance of the Services and detecting errors for correction. The data collected is technical in nature and does not include personally identifiable information.
3. Cookies on the Website (faronova.co)
• _ga (Google Analytics 4) — Type: Analytics — Purpose: Distinguish unique users — Duration: 2 years.
• _gid (Google Analytics 4) — Type: Analytics — Purpose: Distinguish unique users — Duration: 24 hours.
• _ga_* (Google Analytics 4) — Type: Analytics — Purpose: Maintain session state — Duration: 2 years.
• Sentry — Type: Performance — Purpose: Technical error monitoring — Duration: session.
4. Cookies on FaroMonitor (monitor.faronova.co)
• Session cookies (AWS Cognito) — Type: Essential — Purpose: User authentication and secure session management.
• Proprietary analytics system — Type: Analytics (optional and can be deactivated) — Purpose: Collection of anonymized page views and navigation patterns. User identifiers are irreversibly pseudonymized before storage. Does not use third-party cookies.
FaroMonitor's analytics system is optional. During registration and terms acceptance, the User decides whether to authorize analytics cookies and marketing communications through separate options. The User can modify these preferences at any time from the Settings > Data Rights section of the platform, or through the consent banner. Revocation takes effect immediately and FaroMonitor stops emitting analytics events from that moment.
5. Cookies on FaroPlanning (planning.faronova.co)
• Session cookies (AWS Cognito) — Type: Essential — Purpose: User authentication and secure session management.
• Proprietary analytics system — Type: Analytics (with consent) — Purpose: Improve the service through anonymized usage statistics.
• Consent banner — Type: Essential — Purpose: Manage the User's cookie preferences.
6. Third-Party Cookies
FaroNova uses third-party services that may set their own cookies on the User's device:
• Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC): Used exclusively on the faronova.co website to collect anonymized browsing statistics. Google may process this data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
• Sentry: Used for technical error monitoring. The data collected is technical in nature and does not include personally identifiable information.
• AWS Cognito (Amazon Web Services): Used for secure user authentication on FaroMonitor and FaroPlanning. Session cookies are strictly necessary for service operation.
FaroNova has no control over cookies set by third parties. For more information, consult each provider's privacy policy.
7. How to Manage Cookies
The User can manage their cookie preferences in the following ways:
7.1. Browser Settings
Most browsers allow blocking, deleting, or managing cookies from their privacy settings. Procedures vary by browser. Consult your browser's help documentation for specific instructions.
7.2. Consent Banner and Settings Panel
On FaroMonitor and FaroPlanning, the User can manage their cookie preferences through the consent banner. Additionally, on FaroMonitor the User can modify their preferences at any time from Settings > Data Rights, without needing to wait for the banner to appear again.
7.3. Google Analytics Opt-Out
The User can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout to prevent Google Analytics from collecting browsing data.
7.4. Effects of Deactivation
Disabling essential cookies (authentication, session) may affect the functioning of the Services and prevent access to features requiring authentication. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect the functioning of the Services.
8. Legal Basis
The use of cookies by FaroNova is governed by Statutory Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1074 of 2015, in accordance with Article 15 of the Political Constitution of Colombia.
• Essential cookies: Used exclusively to provide the service requested by the User (authentication, session security). They do not require additional authorization, pursuant to Article 10 of Law 1581 of 2012.
• Analytics and performance cookies: Analytics and performance cookies, including Google Analytics 4 and Sentry, will only be activated after obtaining the User's prior, express, and informed authorization through a consent banner, pursuant to Article 9 of Law 1581 of 2012. Authorization for the processing of personal data will be requested through a prior, express, and informed mechanism, separate from the mere acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.
9. International Data Transmission via Cookies
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) and performance cookies (Sentry) transmit data to servers located in the United States of America. These transmissions constitute international transmissions to data processors, conducted under Article 26, paragraph a) of Law 1581 of 2012 (express and unequivocal authorization of the data subject through consent banner).
FaroNova discloses that the United States of America is not included in the list of countries with an adequate level of data protection issued by the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, which is why the transmission is based on the express authorization of the data subject.
Essential authentication cookies (AWS Cognito) also transmit data to Amazon Web Services servers in the United States, but are used exclusively to provide the service requested by the User.

10. Modifications to this Policy
FaroNova reserves the right to modify this Cookie Policy at any time. Modifications will be published on faronova.co with the last updated date visible. Continued use of the Services after publication of changes constitutes acceptance of the modifications.
